ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over ten years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex. The Complex refers to the processing facilities and infrastructure at the Meadowbank mine site combined with the mining and infrastructure at the Amaruq site.


YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Underground Mine Superintendent, the Mine Projects General Supervisor collaborates with other departments of the mine. The incumbent will efficiently lead continuous improvement projects within the underground mine, track progress and milestones in all mine operation and create business cases for any potential improvement project. The incumbent will always aim to integrate improvements and projects into operations. The Mine Projects General Supervisor will be directly involved into department Cost Tracking, Contract Tracking, Material ordering and Sealift preparation, Workforce management and other operational related projects.

Health and Safety, Environment
  • Respect and promote highest safety and environment standard;
  • Ensure compliance with the Agnico Eagle Mining Policies and Procedures;
  • Ensure that all practices and procedures are performed with respect to the defined regulations;
  • Produce risk assessments and procedures for different areas of the mine;
  • Conduct Audit on regular operation including JTO, JOHSC inspection and support GS into supervision formula evaluation;
  • Actively participate in elaboration of safety standards;
  • Participate in the promotion and facilitate the mine rescue training to have a fully compliant UG operation;
  • Participate in the implementation of the operational waste management program with environment;

UG Mine Performance
  • Review and analyze production to determine the sources of variance between production specifications and goals;
  • Study and review data, charts, reports, and records;
  • Support and improve the mitigations process of operational delays on Daily, Weekly and Monthly planning tools (meeting, reporting, field actions);
  • Maintain and Optimize the Operation Action Plan in place;
  • Initiate, promote and maintain active work sessions in collaboration with SO to support the mitigations of operational delays - Part of the distributed team;
  • Participate in the analysis of reliability of equipment. Actively implement solutions to reduce operational damage on fleet and seek best practices in industry and other AEM divisions;
  • Optimize coordination of activities with Other GS and support any initiatives implemented;

Project Initiative and other
  • Directly involved in end of month revision with Finance group;
  • Track and Follow workforce ratio compared to budget;
  • Improve material consumption tracking;
  • Create and maintain actions and progress tracking tools for contracts;
  • Build business cases for any potential project within the mine;
  • Help in the implementation of new technology applicable to the expansion of any technology and continuous improvement within the underground mine;
  • Showing leadership in the management of constant changes while promoting a culture of high efficiency;
  • Perform all other duties as requested by the Management Team;


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • University, College or equivalent degree;
  • Project management and financial knowledge, formal qualification is considered an asset;
  • Minimum of 10 years in Underground Mine Operations or Planning;
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations;
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines on multiple initiatives;
  • Resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills;
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude;
  • Able to develop and foster a team environment;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: Either 7/7 or 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
