ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, Supply Chain, human resources, communications as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, innovation and digital transformation).

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Geotechnical Advisor, you will be part of the Geotechnical Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of the company's knowledge in the geotechnical field:
    • Provide follow-ups or updates of the information available on the different studies and projects;
    • Ensure that data quality assurance, quality control and work procedures are followed at all times;
    • Compile and interpret technical data (Leapfrog, Deswik, Power BI);
    • Participate in the development of projects (ex.: geotechnical models, ground control, hydrogeology - infiltration estimation, backfill characterization, etc.).
  • Assist the geotechnical group in conducting technical studies of underground and/or open pit operations by performing various tasks such as:
    • Participate in innovation projects in the geotechnical field as well as in the implementation of innovation in the operations;
    • Training and development for projects such as deformation/convergence measurements, use of underground drones, performance optimization, 3D models, instrumentation monitoring tools, etc.;
    • Assistance in the implementation of tools, follow-up and support with the different sites


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • College diploma (D.E.C.) or university degree in an appropriate field (geotechnics, civil, hydrogeology, mining, geology);
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in the mining sector (open pit, underground or environment) or consulting engineering;
  • Experience with the monitoring (and if possible implementation) of a data quality assurance program (QA);
  • Good knowledge of programming or data compilation software such as Excel, Access/SQL, PowerBI;
  • Good knowledge of drawing, visualization and analysis software such as Leapfrog, Deswik, Rocscience, Cloud Compare;
  • Fluent in French and English;
  • Fluency in written and/or spoken Spanish would be an asset.

Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2-4-3 schedule.
  • Workplace: The position is located at the CSDRN (Support and Development Center) in Rouyn-Noranda. There is a possibility of working some days from another AEM office and tele-working.
