ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle has three active properties in Nunavut. The Meadowbank Complex, in operation since 2010, which uses the processing facilities and infrastructure at the Meadowbank mine site, combined with the mining and infrastructure at the Amaruq site. the Meliadine underground mine, in operation since 2019 located near Rankin Inlet, NU is our second mine in Canada's Low Arctic. Our third mine, the Hope Bay mine, located near Cambridge Bay, NU is located in the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut. It has over 90 regional exploration targets across an 80 km greenstone belt. To support the Nunavut projects, Agnico Eagle has staff based out of 2 regional offices, located in Val d'Or and Mirabel, Quebec.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Coordinator, the Operation Data Specialist will work in collaboration with various stakeholders. They will lead the standardization of data management processes by ensuring consistency and best practices. They will be responsible for analyzing the data, producing trends and lead troubleshooting initiatives. They will be responsitble for providing the data required for all internal and external reporting of the initiatives that they undertakes. They will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Lead and manage various data management processes for Nunavut sites and ensure support to users, provide technical inputs/outputs and troubleshooting;
  • Ensure continuous business support related to data integrity;
  • Liaise with software provider to ensure databases are running and updated consistently;
  • Provide and develop required trending and data interpretation templates ;
  • Assist and participate in various business processes, by providing applicable data;
  • Ensure data management inputs are available for internal and external reports;
  • Ensure trending reports are available and meet different operational needs;
  • Participate on monthly, quartlerly and Annual Report organization, writing and review by providing necessary information;
  • Assist in planning of field programs with regards to data collection and management;
  • Participate in reporting for Regulators by ensuring any required information is readily available.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • College degree in a relevant field;
  • 2-3 years of work experience in a similar role;
  • Experience with multi-tasking and working with multi-disciplinary project teams;
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • General familiarity with data manipulation, such as reporting and querying databases;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Good organization skills;
  • Available to go on our Nunavut sites to do in person troubleshooting and training as needed;
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as PowerBI an asset;
  • Familiarity with SQL queries an asset.

Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.

Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d'Or, Rouyn-Noranda or Mirabel, QC. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
