Operations Supervisor, SXEW

POSITION OVERVIEW

Supervise and control the safe and cost-efficient operation of the L-SX-EW Operations to provide optimal product specifications and meet safety and production goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervise the daily control room operation
• Report critical incidents or departmental upsets to management.
• Supervise the activities of assigned crew and monitor their progress
• Meet production targets through efforts of the crew following process parameters and strategies
• Monitor plant equipment to ensure proper operation and identify developing trends.
• Quickly respond and take corrective action to plant alarms.
• Monitor and maintain operating levels in equipment.
• Ensure the crew follows the cost-control strategies
• Perform daily reporting activities
• Prepare samples and reports to the lab and management to ensure proper plant optimization.
• Enforce safe practices, ensure safe conditions, and promote a safe attitude among crew members
• Comply with environmental requirements and promote environmental awareness among crew members
• Ensure notifications are written on faulty or unsafe equipment
• Train employees in the safe and efficient operations of the L-SX-EW

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Understanding of computer operations
• Problem solving ability
• Must be able to work rotating shifts and holidays (24/7/365 operation)

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED
• Some college or technical school education
• 5 years mine process experience and 3 years supervisory experience
• Prior concentrator or SXEW experience of one year desirable
