The Opportunity:

Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an experienced underground Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team at the Red Chris Underground Project near Dease Lake, British Columbia.

Working a 14-days on / 14-days off rotation, this position is a "fly-in/fly-out" role from British Columbia and Alberta.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be providing support and expert advice with all matters HSE along with being responsible for the coordination of day-to-day safety initiatives. These may include, but not limited to job observations, safety audits, risk assessments and hazard identifications, emergency response, other tasks as required.

The candidate will be well-versed in the Mines Act and the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Mining Health and Safety in an underground environment.
• Strong communications skills
• Strong organization skills
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and motivate others to shape a strong safety culture
• Experience with Safety Management Database systems (INX software would be an asset)
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products including MS Teams would be an asset
• Strong reporting and data management skills
• Experience with Underground Mine Rescue
