The Opportunity: Barminco has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and certified Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Downtown Denver, Colorado, US.

Reporting to the Accountant the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while providing accounting and administrative services to the finance organization and other functions across the division.

More specifically, our Accounts Payable Specialist will:
  • Check and accurately enter invoices as per AP process
  • Pay local creditors as per payment schedule
  • Assist with Supplier queries
  • Effectively manage the AP inbox
  • Reconciliation of expense claims/Petty Cash
  • Reconciliation of Supplier accounts
  • Proactively liaise with Suppliers, the Order Department, and Warehouse teams
  • Assist with general clerical duties as required

Skills and Experience:
  • A qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts payable
  • Experience in the mining industry would be an asset
  • High level attention to detail
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work at a remote site if required
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to plan ahead
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
