POSITION PURPOSE
The Purchasing Specialist will procure and expedite services and products. He/she will assist in the selection of new vendors. Works closely with other departments to understand requirements and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
REPORTING TO: Purchasing and Contracts Senior Supervisor
COLLABORATING WITH (Key departments, External Groups): All Pinto Valley business and operating units
PEOPLE REPORTING TO THIS POSITION (Name of Position): None
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage and ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.
• Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.
• Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.
• Ensure timely and accurate execution of all purchasing activities using defined standards.
• Collate and analyze report data to help track targets and team performance.
• Oversee quality assessment - handle issues from vendors and internal clients, intercompany transactions, payment status and billing.
• Manage end to end supplier activities.
• Provide day to day direction to the team to ensure delivery against plan.
• Guide and coach team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Behave in a way that demonstrates support of Capstone's Vision and Values: Always Accountable, Execute with Excellence, Deliver Results and Work Responsibly
• Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required
• Responsible for Vendor Master Maintenance
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge
• Detailed oriented with a team player mentality
• Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills to include confidential information
• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office) with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel. Quadram or Ariba experience a plus. SAP Experience a plus
• Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
Key Competencies / Skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred. Minimum 2 years purchasing experience.
• Purchasing experience in the mining industry or other industrial environments
• Certifications or education specific to Purchasing
