POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for (including but not limited to) Filter Plant Operations and the effective processing of ore and to direct and supervise all processing activities to ensure goals and KPI’s for HSEC, Production, Conc. Grade, Quality and Cost are achieved for the Processing area. This position also supervises the execution of all planning, staffing and cost control activities related to the Processing Labor Crew. In addition, this role provides leadership and mentors team members to operate in a manner consistent with company values. The position role also provides timely and accurate reporting for the area as required. The Filter Plant/Labor Crew Supervisor also works with the Crusher/Filter Plant Operations Superintendent to determine plans for the department.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.
  • Manage and ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.
  • Maintain department compliance with local, state, federal and company standards.
  • Communicate directives to direct reports to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Build an appropriate department team through recruitment and development.
  • Ensure that training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of the department.
  • Coach and mentor department team member growth and development.
  • Ensure professional learning objectives of the department team members are defined and met.
  • Conduct performance reviews; provide feedback and coaching for department team members.
  • Provide input to the Crusher/Filter Plant Operations Superintendent as required regarding the development of the overall department budget.
  • Ensure that the required manpower and equipment are in place to achieve planned activities, while meeting budgeted costs.
  • Allocate resources and define work plans to ensure activities and requirements are achieved as planned.
  • Ensure support labor targets are met; correct or address issues as they arise.
  • Set clear expectations and work objectives which achieve department and production targets.
  • Provide expertise, leadership and guidance to internal and external departments (as required).
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly support labor reports that monitor progress vs. business Processing targets and objectives.
  • Implement processing production programs and operations to maximize production efficiency and resources (as required).
  • Implement operational programs, processes and policies to meet organizational governance requirements and standards (as required).
  • Identify options and potential actions to adopt best practices for production (as required).
  • Identify potential issues and collaborate with Processing management to prevent, mitigate or resolve them in a real-time environment.
  • Implement initiatives to optimize existing business systems, processes, practices and equipment to improve the overall performance of the function and department (as required).
  • Ensure both long-term and short-term maintenance plans and schedules are reviewed and coordinated with production demands (including Down Day planning and scheduling).
  • Use SAP and Microsoft Office software to enter, update and/or research information.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge
  • Concentrator/Filter Plant experience.
  • SAP experience a plus.

Key Competencies / Skills
  • Minimum of five years of Concentrator / Mill related experience in production execution areas.
  • Intermediate computer skills; Microsoft Office, Outlook.
  • SAP experience.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License (must obtain valid Arizona Driver’s License).
  • Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.
