This position is located at the Henderson Mill site off of CO-9 between Kremmling, CO and Silverthorne, CO. This is a rural, alpine area approximately 2 hours from the Denver metropolitan area. The mill is at an altitude of approximately 9,100 feet. In the winter the average high temperature is 28 degrees and the average low is 0 degrees. In the summer the average high temperature is 75 degrees and the average low is 40 degrees. The average snowfall in Summit/Grand counties is in excess of 200 inches per year.

Description

Skilled Mechanic who, under supervision, safely performs maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment and processes in the Milling plant including mills, conveyors, screens and like systems.

  • Assist with and perform component replacement and repairs on, but not limited to: conveyor systems, ball mills, auto mills, screen decks, lube systems, filter drums, crushers, hydraulic filter presses, and foundry pumps
  • Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance: identify potential failures/noises/wear on agitators, rotors, belts, pulleys, gear boxes
  • May perform welding (Stick, TIG)
  • Responsible for maintaining work orders, a clean and safe work area and performing work area inspections
  • Perform other duties as required


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience in mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Ability read and use schematics and blue prints


Preferred

  • Additional experience in an industrial/fixed plant maintenance setting.
  • The ability to read, understand and use schematics and blue prints.
  • Background of understanding preventative maintenance practices.
  • Be able to diagnose issues with plant equipment by sound or visual.
  • Able to bring forward ideas or suggestions to improve processes.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Will be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, see and work in confined spaces
  • Occasionally may be asked or required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
