This position is located at the Henderson Mine site, located 9 miles West of Empire, CO off US-40 (GPS Coordinates: 39.770645, -105.811606), an 1 hour from the Denver metropolitan area The mine is in an underground operation, with the surface setting at an elevation of 10,300 feet above sea level. The underground environment maintains a an average temperature of 60 degrees however may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles. At the Surface, in the winter the average high temperature is 28 degrees and the average low is 0 degrees. In the summer the average high temperature is 75 degrees and the average low is 40 degrees. The average snowfall in Clear Creek/Grand counties is in excess of 200 inches per year.

Description

Under the direct supervision of regional IS Management, assists in the planning, organization, supervision, coordination and enhancement, maintenance and repair of the sites computer, conventional and wireless telecommunications systems and infrastructure.

  • Provides leadership and demonstrates a passion for results around the successful implementation of Shared Services IS
    • Assigns, supervises and reviews the work of Supervisors for assigned work unit
    • Conducts performance evaluations on subordinate staff
    • Works with IS Supervisor(s) in the development, training and mentoring of local IS support technicians including PC Technicians and LAN Administrators
    • Mentors IS staff in safe work behavior
  • Monitors all performance and progress related to local IS policy and Compliance Calendar requirements and deadlines
  • Assists local Managers with SOX compliance by providing necessary documentation for process control compliance and testing related to IS infrastructure and servers
  • Interfaces with local customers on IS support or service issues; assists with resolving escalated customer service issues for site
  • Works with other site Supervisors and Regional IS manager to insure inter-operability and process standardization
  • Leads process teams for enterprise-wide process improvement in IS best practice
  • Communicates local IS issues to regional and enterprise management and strives to build harmonious relationships
  • Plans and manages local IS capital projects
  • Maintains projected IS cost forecasts and reconciles actual to budgeted IS spend for the site
  • Performs other duties as required


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field and five (5) years of experience in a computer technology service delivery capacity; OR
  • Associate's degree or IT Certificate and seven (7) years of related IT experience; OR
  • High School diploma or GED and nine (9) years of experience in a computer technology service delivery capacity
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, conventional and wireless telecommunications networks
  • Knowledge of technical journals, software manuals, hardware manuals used in the installation and maintenance of computer systems
  • Knowledge of computer peripherals, including printers, modems, scanners, fax machines and specialized adaptive equipment
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Able to motivate, communicate with and instruct/train others, using both technical and non-technical language to explain complex subjects and processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and present information to a wide variety of audiences

  • Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required

Pay Range :

$79,900-$113,000/Annually

Rate of pay dependent on competency, experience, qualifications and skills
