Description

Manage the Global Supply Chain (GSC) team at a smaller operation at a company site. Oversee the procurement of goods and services for the site as well as managing inventory levels, inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.

  • Manage staff to meet procurement and inventory performance objectives and deadlines on a daily basis
  • Implement GSC initiatives and objectives with team; track performance against those objectives and regularly provide feedback to employees, both verbally and written, in an effort to meet those objectives
  • Direct savings and cost containment strategy at site utilizing procurement techniques with team, including should cost analysis, negotiations, paper bids, request for proposals (RFPs) and competitive bid events (CBEs)
  • Direct inventory management activities at site, including stock code optimization, inventory receipts, requisition order fulfillment (service level), inventory accuracy, asset recovery, and obsolete inventory disposition
  • Develop and direct procurement and supply base strategy for site specific supply base
  • Collaborate with commodity management team on supply base strategy for multi-site suppliers
  • Manage team performance against procurement and inventory related metrics
  • Analyze and identify root causes of under-performance and implement changes to improve performance to meet or exceed targets
  • Ensure SOX compliance by all staff members to procure to pay policies as documented by the Global Supply Chain organization
  • Report site specific results relative to procurement, inventory and organizational-related metrics, including cost savings, procurement event activities (RFPs, CBEs, etc.), purchase order cycle times, supplier performance, discount obtainment, inventory value, fill rate, inventory accuracy, policy compliance and other relevant measures
  • Sponsor or lead the implementation of new or enhanced sourcing and inventory processes at site
  • Perform other duties as requested


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of Purchasing and Materials Management experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience in Purchasing, Materials Management, Logistics or a related field


Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field and five (5) years of Purchasing and Materials Management experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience in Purchasing, Materials Management, Logistics or a related field
  • Understand entire site contract scope, implement strategic sourcing concepts to maximize value for company
  • Perform initial review of all contract requests to ensure end user group adheres to appropriate policies and processes
  • Guide contract team in executing agreement in accordance to GSC practices


Criteria/Conditions

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Position is in busy, non-smoking office
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment
  • Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in an outdoor or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required
