Description

Under close supervision, performs routine duties assisting in the provision of human resources programs and services for management, employees, volunteers, applicants and the general public.

  • Responsible for the administration of, and assists employees in completing insurance, unemployment, workers' compensation and other personnel forms
  • Maintains records on sick leave, vacation, and other absences
  • Handles or refers personnel related inquiries and checks references
  • Assists in compiling human resource related statistics for management
  • May handle paper flow for periodic reviews
  • Assists in maintaining employee files
  • Performs other duties as required


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • One (1) year of clerical experience in Administrative, Office Support or Human Resources work
  • Solid computer skills in office word processing, email, spreadsheet and presentation applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards


Preferred
  • High School diploma or GED


Criteria/Conditions
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Work is mostly performed in an office setting
  • Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required

Pay Range :

$19.15-$25.80/Hourly

Rate of pay dependent on competency, experience, qualifications and skills
