Provide leadership to safely direct and manage the overall operation of the Concentrating Division, maintenance, and technical services activities to maximize production of copper and gold safely, with acceptable quality, within the budget, in a timely and environmentally manner.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Direct, manage and control milling operations from Ore Reclaim through Concentrate Pumping to maximize production of copper and gold targeted by the company, within the budget, in a timely, safe and environmentally acceptable manner.
  • Direct, manage and control Mill maintenance activities to ensure maximum reliability and availability of all equipment in concentrating division. This includes mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, instrumentation, industrial automation, and all planning efforts to match with this.
  • Direct, manage and control metallurgy and engineering technical services activities for all departments in concentrating division to maximize the investment and production value for the company. This includes the Metallurgy, Met Accounting, QC Lab, Met Lab, Engineering and Corrosion Control groups.
  • Direct, manage, and control operating and maintenance functions for the Big Gossan paste backfill systems.
  • Direct, manage and control the concentrator division training, safety and environmental program to achieve safety and environmental goals and objectives.
  • Direct, manage and monitor manpower management activities to ensure manpower administration is according to company and government regulation and industry's best practices.
  • Develop, manage and control operating and capital budgets to ensure that all production and maintenance cost are at the maximum efficiency and within the approved budget.
  • Provide engineering, processing, metallurgical and management expertise for the training of National employee.
  • Develop and implement Training and Development program to improve employee's skill levels, percentage of national employee in management and professional positions, ratio of supervisors to workforce, number of management levels, skill flexibility, counterpart program and accountability for roles and responsibility.
  • Stay actively involved in the design and construction phases of all the Mill Optimization projects for the transition to Underground Ore, including SAG3, Kasuang Copper Cleaner, additional Geho, and all other necessary projects. Provide oversight in the project owner role for the designs and ensure construction progress is monitored to ensure safety and reliability of the system. Provide start up and commissioning assistance to all new Mill Optimization project in coordination with NOLA/FCX and contractor requirements.


  • Provide support for the EVP Operations position as required and ensure the role is filled during absences of the current EVP.
  • Develop and implement a succession plan for key personnel in the Mill and outlying operations associated with milling. Ensure the plan follows the path required to develop key personnel with focus on 7-Suku leadership.
  • Provide direction and oversight for coordination of efforts on concentrate pumping including coordination of maintenance activities and actively managing the concentrate inventory and minimizing pipeline wear.
  • Stay actively involved in power conversation and power loading in conjunction with the contractor PJP. Review new designs for power conversations and along with power feeds that support mill and UG expansions.


  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in Milling operations
    • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing a large workforce in a senior leadership role
    • Proven track record of running a large milling operation
