Description

Under moderate supervision, oversee or perform a variety of warehouse duties involving the receiving, unloading, inventory, storing, movement and distribution of goods and materials at assigned site.

  • Serve as a lead worker, overseeing and guiding the work of other warehouse workers and staff which may also including training of other workers
  • Receive and unload goods and materials and place into inventory
  • Receive and review orders for goods and materials
  • Review inventory records to determine availability
  • Pull requested items for customers
  • Research discrepancies and resolve issues by contacting Buyers and/or suppliers to identify missing or incorrect part numbers and/or invoice numbers
  • Update Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) as needed to:
    • Maintain records of delivered items and remaining inventory
    • Initiate restock of items as necessary
    • Update manual or automated inventory listings
  • Work with Materials management to identify and optimize placement of new stock
  • Operate a variety of light equipment, hand trucks and vehicles within a warehouse environment
  • Develop working relationships with suppliers and Buyers to facilitate work flow
  • May work with suppliers to modify their processes which will streamline work and create efficiencies for the warehouse
  • Initiate corrections of inventory in coordination with Buyers, Materials Management and Accounting personnel to maintain an accurate count
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of Warehouse, Inventory Control, Materials Management or related experience
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse inventory control systems, purchase orders and accounts payable processes and methods
  • Ability to problem solve and do reconciliations and root cause analysis
  • Analytical skills are expected
  • Knowledge of purchasing rules, regulations, methods and forms
  • Expertise in operating a variety of light equipment, hand trucks and vehicles within a warehouse environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Display a professional can-do attitude
  • Solid computer skills with proficiency in email, and an understanding of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards


Preferred

  • High School diploma or GED
  • More experienced computer skills in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Materials Management software

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in an outdoor or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required

Pay Range :

$22.50 - $31.00/Hourly

Rate of pay dependent on competency, experience, qualifications and skills
