Description

You will own and manage the global SAP platform and work in close collaboration with the Global MIS G&A and Operations Business Architecture leads as well as senior business executives to set strategic direction for the SAP ecosystem.

As the platform owner, you will oversee the outsourcing arrangement with Accenture which provides both functional and technical support for all SAP products and platforms.

You will be a key leader on the current ECC to S/4 upgrade and will drive that project to a successful conclusion with the first phase comprising of North America, South America and Europe and a second phase encompassing Indonesia. As an SAP subject matter expert, you will ensure we are utilizing the latest and appropriate product offerings while maximizing the value achieved.

Responsibilities will include setting strategic direction, roadmap development, program management, overall solution development and collaborating with senior business leaders on business priorities.
  • Provide leadership and program management for the ongoing 5 year S/4 global upgrade (currently in year 1). This includes ensuring delivery of the program with the expected value realization while being on time and within budget. Ensure the technical platform is refreshed using the appropriate modern technologies to reduce technical debt, provide more capabilities and allow for more efficient long term support.
  • Manage the Accenture outsourcing relationship to ensure work is prioritized in alignment with the strategic direction/roadmap as well as ensuring Freeport is receiving the service levels and value as expected. This includes management of the contracts and related financials.
  • Interface with the CIO, other IT Directors, Director of Project Management Office, the custom solutions team, the infrastructure team, the security team, vendors, business partners, and other stakeholders to ensure the proper coordination and delivery of projects.
  • Partners with MIS Business Architecture leads/Business Leads to set and refresh global strategic direction for the SAP ecosystem. Deliver a roadmap that embraces the expanded SAP capabilities to further consolidate systems.
  • Post-S/4 upgrade, continue to identify and execute on opportunities to further utilize SAP capabilities that were deferred as part of the project.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • This position requires air travel.   • Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of information technology project management experience on large system implementations, including 10 years of SAP experience

OR
  • Master's degree and eight (8) years of information technology project management experience on large system implementations, including 8 years of SAP experience
  • Expertise in business analysis, technical platforms and project management methodologies
  • Global business experience and perspective
  • Collaborative management style
  • Strong oral and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with managing large outsourcing contracts
  • Comprehensive understanding of and demonstrated leadership in Agile project management principles and execution methodologies
  • Proficiency in Spanish isn't required, but is useful when working with South American and Spanish operations.

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
