The Kinross Corporate Head Office is located in downtown Toronto and supports Kinross' operations and projects worldwide. Corporate functions include Finance, Procurement, Health & Safety, Human Resources, IT, Investor Relations, Exploration, Geology and Mine Planning, among others.

Job Description

To support the Kinross Technical Services (KTS) Geology department in analytical, coordination and reporting work to meet key corporate and site commitments. Reports to the Director of Technical Strategy, and also assists other professionals within KTS. Contributes to the design and development of processes, practices, and methodologies in geology. Partakes in activities related to the modelling and analysis of geological information and processes to ensure that Company standards are met. The role spans the entire mining life cycle from discovery, exploration, development, construction, operations, closure and reclamation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the preparation and compilation of the Company's NI 43-101 Technical Reports and documentation to ensure compliance with industry and operational requirements
  • Assists in the development, editing and organization of internal technical standards
  • Provides technical support for the Company's project studies, operations, development projects, engineering studies, exploration and merger and acquisitions activities; identifies geological strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats impacting their economic viability
  • Processing of data for use in resource modelling; mineral resource characterization utilizing 3D visualization software to analyze results
  • Support other analytical database geology work and brownfield exploration
  • Actively seeks mentorship and learning opportunities to improve technical knowledge and skill set
  • Occasionally travels to various sites globally, as required
  • Other duties as required


Education and Experience

  • 3rd year student in Geology or Geological Engineering

  • Knowledge and skill with a PC utilizing office applications
