Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource base located in White Pine County, Nevada. Its workforce comes from Ely, Eureka, Elko, and Spring Creek area. It is the newest mine in Kinross' portfolio acquired in January 2016. Nevada is one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. The Bald Mountain Vantage Complex Project has commenced production, and the first gold bar was poured in June 2019.

Job Summary

This is an entry-level position for the Mine Operations Department. This position may allow progression training within the Mine Operations department.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver water to all blast hole drill rigs and crusher
  • Deliver samples from blast hole drills to lab
  • Keep blast hole drill rigs stocked with supplies
  • Organize all drill shop supply bins
  • Will assist with crusher clean up duties
  • Keep all mine ops lay down yards organized
  • Assist with shovel cable moves when needed
  • Recognize and control environmental hazards
  • All other work as assigned, including but not limited to road blacks for blast, snow removal, and re-supplying ready line containers.


Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Willing to train on other equipment operation as required, such as skidsteers and small loaders
  • Able to operate 4000 gallon water truck and other shop equipment
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Ability to work alone with minimum supervision
  • Must be willing to learn PC skills as needed
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all departments
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required
  • Required valid driver's license
