In 2016, the site poured its seven millionth ounce of gold, 20 years into its mine life. The initial Gilmore Expansion Project is expected to extend mine life to 2030.

Job Description

The Contract Administrator (CA) is responsible for assigned acquisition of materials, equipment, or services which support the business efforts of Kinross, Fort Knox. In this position you will utilize your knowledge and skills to apply the full range of pre-award and post-award functions to include: acquisition planning, solicitation preparation and execution, proposal analysis, negotiations, contract administration and close out for a variety of supply, service, and/or construction contracts. CA may also assist in researching opportunities, requirement definition, and data analysis. Contract Administrator analyzes proposed commercial terms and recommends award based upon the combined results of commercial and technical evaluations. CA ensures final/negotiated contracts comply with company policies. The CA supports end-users during performance of contracts and facilitates the monitoring of contract terms and conditions including progress, schedules, invoices and payments, and final acceptance. You will utilize multiple contract types and multiple solicittion methods in this position, to include: competitive and sole source, cost reimbursable and fixed-price contracts/task and delivery orders, indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity contracts, and requirements contracts.

CA will work closely with Kinross Global Supply Chain as well as Fort Knox Supply Chain Personnel, site management, and Kinross legal departments (Regional & Corporate) to continuously improve Ft Knox's contract value and outcomes. On the Manh Choh project, there will be close co-ordination and working relationship with the Project Manager.

This position is primarily based out of Fort Knox but will require travel to Tetlin 2-4 times per month.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution with at least 24 hours in any combination of the following fields:
  • Business Administration or Management
  • Pre-law
  • Contracts
  • Finance
  • Economics
  • Supply Chain
  • Accounting

Applicant may substitute equivalent experience and training but must show demonstrated experience and formal training in the field of contracting.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a contract administrator demonstrating a wide range of contracting activities, including: acquisition planning for a variety of goods, services, and construction; price analysis; source selection, negotiation, and award processes; administration of a wide variety of goods, services, and construction contracts; and closeout.


Skills

  • Candidate must be able to interpret and implement instructions and policies, perform simple mathematical calculations, and develop and maintain contract files
  • •Must have sound leadership, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; this position may supervise hourly employees.
  • •Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, & Access)
  • •Possession of valid driver's license
  • •Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
  • •Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
  • •Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
  • •Must have sound leadership, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • •Experience working with native tribes or aboriginal communities preferred.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

One of the following certifications:
  • •Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM).
  • •Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM).
  • •Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM).
  • •Defense Acquisitions Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA/APDP) certification.
  • •Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C)


•Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards) as well as the ability to use company mandated contract templates.
