Job Description
- Be part of the Kinross Corporate Geological Database Team assisting on the different tasks related to the management and maintenance of the company's exploration and ore control data systems
- Support mine reconciliation data collection, compilation, and reporting systems
- Support different sites on their database and ore control needs and traveling to sites when the assigned task requires it
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to all sites on the maintenance of geological data in acQuire
- Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance/quality control protocol and systems in the database for geological data
- Perform routine health check of geological data in acQuire to ensure the validation of the data stored in the database
- Work closely with other members of the Corporate Database Team and site Database Administrators to support KTS Resource Geologists providing validated data when required.
- Assist with the training of users in the different software used in exploration and ore control, showing the correct procedures in data manipulation, import and exports, as well as in the management of geological data and map creation.
- Assist on the generation of analyses, reports on the Qa/Qc data in acQuire or Arena
- Support all sites on reconciliation of ore production and maintain the corporate reconciliation data compilation and reporting system
- Involved in resolving any issues with sites in ore control and related database
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Geology or Geoscience
- 5-8 years experience in the mining Industry in Mine Geology and Exploration
- Proficiency in Relational Database Management Systems (acQuire experience is desired)
- Knowledge of SQL and/or GIS is a plus
