Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource base located in Nevada. It is the newest mine in Kinross' portfolio and was acquired in January 2016.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Projects Supervisor, the incumbent works in the projects department supporting the access road maintenance and area projects while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.

Essential Functions

• Operates the assigned equipment in support of the mine services project development effort
• Provides support in the construction of roads, pits ,reclamation, installation of, culverts, fencing, and signage
• Builds and maintains a positive working relationship with the all mine departments , contractors and vendors that work onsite
• Provides support to the site departments when opportunities exist
• Fill out all required paperwork, including pre-operational inspections, FLRA's, and work area inspections
• Keep work area clean, and tools in good condition.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
• Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
• Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
• Works without risk or harm to self and others.
• Punctuality and regular attendance required.
• Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
• Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• Experience in the operation of Caterpillar haul trucks is required
• Experience in the operation of water trucks is required
• Experience in the operation the track dozers is preferred
• Experience in the operation of motor graders is preferred
• Experience in the operation of wheel loaders is preferred
• Experience in the operation of additional support equipment a plus
• Ability to work in all types of weather/conditions on the assigned shift schedule
• Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs frequently.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to get along and work well with others.
• Keep safety as the number one priority.
• Must have a background in equipment operation.
• Some mechanical background is preferred.
• Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
• General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of maintenance activities.

• Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
• Requires valid driver's license.
