The Kinross Corporate Head Office is located in downtown Toronto and supports Kinross' operations and projects worldwide. Corporate functions include Finance, Procurement, Health & Safety, Human Resources, IT, Investor Relations, Exploration, Geology and Mine Planning, among others.

Job Description

This person will work on development projects currently in a study phase. Although the focus will be on electrical engineering, the individual may provide other engineering and project support services. The individual will report to Senior Electrical Engineering Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the coordination and planning of engineering tasks for Electrical and Instrumentation discipline in particular and other disciplines as required.
  • Supporting senior engineers in review of engineering design and documents
  • Working with mine site, regional, corporate staff as well as external consultants
  • Assisting in evaluation of energy efficiency opportunities and company's greenhouse gas emission (GHG) reduction and Renewable Energy (RE) studies and projects.
  • Assisting project managers in the preparation of schedules, budgets, regular reports
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations for Executive management under guidance of senior staff
  • Some travel may be required


Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years towards electrical engineering degree or related Bachelor's degree

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proven ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Team player with an ability to work effectively in a team setting and also ability to work remotely
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Language skills in Russian, French, Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese are assets, but not mandatory
