Job Description

The Cloud Operations team is currently growing to support the deployment of new and existing cloud systems. The Cloud Operation Administrator will participate in the building of Cloud IaaS and PaaS environments and support the technical and access management of SaaS applications in accordance with Kinross standards and security best practices. The focus of this role is the implementation and management of Kinross' cloud initiatives that support efficient, robust, scalable, and secure solutions to meet business requirements. This includes collaborating on the planning, design, and implementation of cloud solutions, from development through to production. The Cloud Operation Administrator will work standard business hours and will be required to respond to after-hours emergencies as necessary.

Job Responsibilities

General:
  • Work within a cross-functional team of system administrators, data analysts, and business analysts to select and implement secure cloud systems
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to cloud environments
  • Research and analyze the latest capabilities of specific information security (e.g. cloud services, encryption, PKI etc.) and IT technologies (e.g. operating systems, networks, storage, virtualization etc.)
  • Monitor deployed cloud resources for performance and security and collaborate on security assessments
  • Validation & execution of backup tasks and disaster recovery processes
  • Provide support and resolve technical issues related to the cloud platforms
  • Document processes and procedures concerning the cloud platforms and cloud deployments
  • Implement and manage security controls protecting cloud systems
  • Liaise with cloud providers on issues or questions regarding cloud infrastructure


IaaS:
  • Create infrastructure and manage the administrator portal
  • Create and maintain cloud resources including virtual networks, gateways, application services, storage
  • Enable and deploy security tools and features
  • Design resilient system images


PaaS:
  • Create and maintain cloud resources including virtual networks, gateways, application services, storage
  • Ensure that PaaS resources are resilient, scalable, and secure


SaaS:
  • Manage configuration and user access to SaaS applications deployed at Kinross
    • Configure and review user access levels
    • Ensure that the application's security features are enabled (2FA, SSO)
    • Support the integration of cloud applications with other systems using APIs


Education and Experience

Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • One or more Cloud Security certifications (e.g. CCSP) certification through (ISC)² or Cloud Security Alliance
  • Knowledge of compliance standards such as NIST, ISO, GDPR, PIPDA, HIPPA, etc.

Minimum Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in a Cloud Administrator or similar role
  • Experience with supporting web application technologies such as TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, HTTP, DNS, routing, load balancing, CDNs, etc.
  • Experience managing or working with an Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with cloud-native SaaS solution management
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions
  • Experience managing Windows Server and Linux-based operating systems
  • Experience managing virtual machines, containers, microservices, backup solutions
  • Experience working with and managing Azure Active Directory
