Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource base that was acquired by Kinross in January 2016. The mine is located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. The Bald Mountain Vantage Complex Project has commenced production, and the first gold bar was poured in June 2019.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Process Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent performs maintenance on fixed plant equipment, and pumping and piping systems while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate basic support equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Perform all aspects of pump maintenance
  • Complete basic mechanical projects
  • Lube equipment, store the new oil, and dispose of waste oil
  • Perform maintenance on all plant equipment
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct
  • Meets and exceeds established performance expectations set by management
  • Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance
  • Works without risk or harm to self and others
  • Punctuality and regular attendance required
  • Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor


Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to operate basic support equipment including forklifts, rigging, and overhead cranes
  • Knowledge of lubing equipment, and the processes for storing and disposing of oil
  • Possess Journeyman mechanical skills, and cutting and welding techniques
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair solution pumps, required
  • Experience maintaining belts, and gearboxes
  • Possess understanding of pipes and plumbing repairs and installations
  • Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge with P.C. and JD Edwards experience preferred
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of of employees and management
  • Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team
  • Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis
  • Requires valid driver's license
