Description du poste

The MEM QA/QC inspector reports to the MEM Planning and Reliability Superintendent within the MEM department and is responsible for overseeing the application of best practices during the execution of maintenance activities. Works a partner to shop supervisor, inspecting equipment to generate backlog, ensures jobs are completed to an acceptable standard and that machines are released safe and reliable.

Includes but not limited to:
• Carries out inspections of equipment according to the established inspection schedule and inspection standards and checklists
• Works as a partner to the shift supervisor to help ensure corrective and planned maintenance jobs are completed in accordance with SOP and OEM standards
• Ensures accurate records are kept. All inspections are documented and backlog jobs are generated in JDE
• Assist with report preparation & Processing: daily time cards, JDE time entry for WOs
• Ensure work orders contains all the information needed (Technical closing) before closing, particularly, WOs classification Category Codes, Est. Hours, Estimated Downtime Hours - Actual Downtime Hours
• Collaborate with planners and suggest updates of Bill of Materials and Associated Part Lists based on field experience. Help update standard and backlog job times, based on field experience
• Implement & control a process of continuous improvement in line with the guidelines of reliability engineering
• Collaborate in the implementation of new initiatives and projects related to maintenance improvement borate and validate in the development of procedures related to maintenance
• Provides coaching and guidance for mechanics
• Assist the planner in determining technical specifications of the equipment
• Participate in the application of Reliability Methodologies for supporting the continuous improvement of maintenance strategies (RCM, RCA, FMECA, Criticality analysis, etc)
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality and environmental policies
• Meet or exceed expected performance as set by management
• Work without risk for own and others
• Maintain accurate records and files
• Consistent exercise of discretion and judgment in job performance
• Punctuality and regular attendance are required

Études et expérience

Mandatory Requirements for this position:
• Vocational Training Certificate or Diploma (BT, BTS or equivalent). Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records
• At least 5 years of experience as a heavy duty mechanic or in a operations supervisory role
• Considerable knowledge of tools and equipment needed for the overhaul, repair and maintenance of a wide variety of mining mobile equipment
• Computer skills. (CAT SIS, CAT Inspect, JDE and Windows, MS Office)
• High commitment to safety in the workplace
• Possess good communication skills (written and oral), facility to work with other employees (Team oriented)
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, problem solving, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
• Ability to work with others in a team environment, yet be self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision
Desirable Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:
• Previous experience in maintaining mining loading and hauling equipment (CAT 6060FS, RH340. PC1250, CAT 994H loaders, CAT 793, CAT D10, CAT 16M, Komatsu 785)
• Anticipates consequences and risks with a medium and long term vision
• Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
• Driver license essential.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment, yet be self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision
