Job Description

Maintenance Healthcare Technician is part of the Maintenance, Planning, and Non-Destructive Technician (NDT) team, is supervised by the Reliability Engineer and is responsible for equipment status communications, the daily maintenance effectiveness, tracking and trending the equipment health with the NDT team, and general oversight of the Maintenance Healthcare System. Continuously aligns daily functions to reflect Kinross's values.

Job Responsibilities

1. Follow the Maintenance Point of Contact Procedures.
2. Keep daily log of Mean Time Between Service (MTBS) of all unscheduled work requests and maintain backlog work for daily down sheet as the POC (Point of Contact).
3. Make work orders for all unscheduled work and notify supervisor or planners for that fleet of the requests.
4. Maintain the Maintenance Healthcare System and report equipment to the proper supervisor or lead-person about equipment needing attention.
5. Report on maintenance trends to the proper fleet owner for review.
6. Attend daily meeting to verify currently down equipment and changes to the daily schedule based on daily maintenance, parts, and operational needs.
7. Builds daily work schedule by working closely with the fleet planners and supervisors.
8. Maintain records from completed work and file as needed.
9. Estimated travel based on current job requirements is (2%).
10. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
12. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
13. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
14. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
15. Works without risk or harm to self and others.
16. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by state agency, or must be able to pass driver competency course and exam.
17. Punctuality and regular attendance required.
18. Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience

  • 1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
    2. Experience with maintenance and operation of a Maintenance Healthcare System preferred.
    3. Minimum of 5 years' experience in the maintenance of mining equipment preferred.
    4. JD Edwards or comparable system knowledge preferred.
    5. Strong service writing skills required.
    6. Must be proficient in identifying continuous improvement opportunities in the maintenance activities to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
    7. Willing to develop skills in other areas of responsibility within the Mobile Maintenance Department.
    8. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling.
    9. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
    10. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
    11. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
    12. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
    13. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
