Kinross' comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Job Description

You will assume the role of Site Administration Assistant and be responsible for providing administrative services and support for the entire team of the Great Bear Project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in giving New Hire Orientation presentation.
  • Assist with all functions of recruitment.
  • Responsible for submitting payroll inputs and producing various reports.
  • Responsible for site scheduling and coordinating flights for rotational employees.
  • Oversee coordination of accommodations and coordinate cleaning.
  • Organize logistics for public relations activities involving advertisements and public notices, site and analyst tours, and corporate visitors. Along with coordinating food or refreshments to be delivered on site.
  • Maintain departmental vacation calendar and requests.
  • Order and keep an inventory of giveaways, promotional items and office supplies.
  • Assist the geology team with sample shipments.
  • Update data in all software systems. Organize, track and file all reports and documentation along with employee records and training files.
  • Assist the team in setting up schedules, calendars, meetings, training, travel, and various events on and off site.
  • Assist in organizing meetings. Responsible for recording minutes and the distribution.
  • Assist with updating policies and procedures.
  • Review, code and cross-check invoices for accuracy and forward to department Manager for approval.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy surrounding all company and employee information.


Education and Experience

Post secondary diploma in a business-related field with a minimum of 2 years experience performing administrative or executive assistant functions. Alternatively, an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma with 3-5 years in a management office environment would be considered. Experience in the mining industry would be an asset.

  • Superior written communication abilities with proficient spelling, grammar, and letter-writing skills
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office products
  • Superior time-management and prioritization skills and able to function well under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Solid understand and ability to work with budgets
  • Able to quickly learn and adapt to new computer software


Working Conditions

This position is located in Red Lake, ON. In this role, you will work a 5x2.
