Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. The Round Mountain Phase W Project is now in production, with first gold poured in May 2019.

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance General Foreman, the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor manages a crew of mechanics to ensure a safe, efficient and productive work environment, while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.

Job Responsibilities

1. Assign crews to specific tasks in order to meet daily mine maintenance goals within the Kinross Way for Maintenance
2. Supervise crew activities throughout shifts to ensure safe and efficient accomplishment of assignments
3. Develop crew skills to levels of maximum efficiency and safety
4. Works with Maintenance Personnel to ensure that all parts, special tools and equipment necessary to complete a planned task are available and accounted for before the job commences
5. Perform daily administrative duties such as time cards, reports, supply requisitions, effective safety meetings and manage daily workload
6. Maintain accurate and up to date records of work performed. Keeping daily schedules of both reactive and proactive work performed
7. This position is responsible for a staff of 7+ mechanics
8. Develop maintenance assignments
9. Ensure optimum use of facilities and equipment
10. Maintains constant communication with the Maintenance General Foreman and periodically updates him/her on the status of work being performed
11. Be a liaison with operations to plan, monitor, and execute maintenance, capital and construction projects. Identify duration of maintenance or repair activity on equipment or facilities
12. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
13. Help develop other department personnel to perform the duties listed above
14. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance
15. Works without risk or harm to self and others
16. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by a state agency is required
17. Punctuality and regular attendance required
18. Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor

Education and Experience

1. It is important that the incumbent fosters team spirit among crew members and motivates them to meet production goals.
2. Meet Kinross Way maintenance goals
3. A minimum of 5 years heavy equipment experience in a mining or construction environment with a combination of field and office work required
4. At least three years of lead or direct supervisory experience or adequate supervisory training is required
5. Must show strong emphasis on Planned/Scheduled work practices
6. Supervises employees within Kinross/RMGC policies and procedures
7. Must be able to adapt to constant shift changes
8. General understanding of mining operations as well as limited understanding of milling, and efficient/effective understanding of maintenance operations
9. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing Excel spreadsheet, Microsoft Word and JD Edwards
10. Must have strong training, verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills
11. The ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, management, vendors and/or contractors
12. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team
13. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
14. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets
