Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Senior Site Electrical Superintendent, will lead the Site Electrical Team in a safe working environment, participate and contribute to maximize availability / reliability of the electrical, instrumentation and automation equipment of the Tasiast operations.
The key metrics for this role are safety, people development and enterprise performance in a harmonious workplace environment. This will involve driving and promoting Continuous Improvement performance and applying appropriate corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance actions at the lowest optimum cost and in compliance with the IEC Standards. A longer-term object is to participate in the company Mauritinisation program to ensure a successful and sustainable outcome

• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
• Ensure and promote compliance with OH&S and environment policies for electrical maintenance personnel.
• Establish and reinforce a positive safety culture which will focus on specific actions to ensure health and safety compliance for all maintenance activities across the site.
• Lead, contribute to and ensure plant housekeeping and cleanliness.
• Responsible for internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company assets and reputation.
• Plan and direct the work of the electrical superintendents, supervisors, automation and systems engineers.
• Determine and schedule the necessary actions for corrective and preventive electrical, instrumentation and automation maintenance in coordination with Mechanical and Preventive Maintenance Head and Supervisors to assure proper functioning of electrical, instrumentation and automation equipment and installations.
• Ensure electrical maintenance team full time readiness to efficiently tackle emergencies or urgent breakdowns.
• Plan and coordinate statutory electrical maintenance and preventive maintenance with in the budgeted planned down times.
• Ensure budgeted outage plans are implemented and achieved by the electrical superintendents, supervisors, automation and systems engineers and their reports or contractors assigned the tasks.
• Manage the execution of work order activities, failure data gathering (RFCA, cause, symptom…), time confirmation (external and internal), and material withdrawal by electrical supervisor, automation and systems engineers.
• Work with Process Engineers to identify trends, patterns, biases, and other indicators that validate the correct operation of all devices.
• Ensure that the superintendents, supervisors, engineers, and tradesmen tasked with routine maintenance of devices are properly trained and have the correct tools to perform the required work.
• Manage execution of maintenance activities by third parties to defined Kinross company standards.
• Liaise with the Planning, Production and Process departments in the execution of complex maintenance actions.
• Liaise with and provide direction to the HR and Training departments to ensure quality and appropriate development opportunities are provided to all electrical department employees in alignment with the company needs.
• Participate in the development of annual budgets and performance management plans applicable to the electrical and processing departments.
• Accept responsibility for the departmental operational and economic performance per agreed KPI's and budget metrics.
• In conjunction with the Continuous improvement, Training, internal department personnel and Operations department management, implement effective and systematic solutions to achieve budget and to meet or exceed targets.
• Communicate and implement regulations, company goals, local permits, policies and procedures to optimise the department internal processes and systems.
• Ability to communicate and work with third parties external to the Tasiast mine site is essential.
• Prepared to accept the responsibility for the site Statutory Electrical responsibility if required.

Études et expérience

Mandatory skills and requirements for this position:
Education: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
Additional Education Preferred High Voltage, Medium Voltage Networks, Control Systems, Instrumentation.
Required Work Experience: 10-12 years' experience in heavy industry and/or mining experience
Project management and budget control experience is required
Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects etc.) JDE, ETap.
PLC Experience: Preferred Schneider, ABB 800XA, DeltaV.
HV/MV: E-Tap Experience protection coordination, Relay Testing, MV Network.
Able to read complicated schematics
Languages - French, Arabic and English required.
Drivers licence - highly desired.

Langues requises
