Job Description

Applies basic data analysis and methodology to a moderately complex system, program, and /or process. The role contributes to the design and development of analytical models, reports and insights, and requires basic data cleansing and analytical extraction skills. The role may prepare, audit and distribute information that is operational or financial in nature.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process and review key payments ensuring timeliness and accuracy in the AP Automated System for standard and three way match invoices to the purchase order.
  • Complete the payment process including, electronic fund, wire or cheque review for proper supporting documentation, ensuring timely processing and adherence to internal control requirements.
  • Assist users on the AP Automated System on coding and approval. Follow up on their needs and provide guidance and understanding of the process.
  • Monitor the flow of the invoices to the automated system and ensure accuracy of the data is captured
  • When necessary, assist as a backup for other team members on invoice and payment processing.
  • Fully understand business requests to ensure the correct policies and procedures are followed
  • Ensure confidentiality when processing invoices
  • Reconcile and clear outstanding goods receipt on invoices within the three ways match processes.
  • Detect correctness of the account charged and follow up with the invoice owner directly regarding proper invoice coding.
  • Liaise with vendors, Supply Chain and site to resolve any payment issues; detect root causes and provide solutions or bring them to the manager attention for resolution.


Education and Experience

Education
  • University degree or college diploma

Experience
  • 1-3 years of related work experience

  • Strong communication skills to deal effectively with all levels of employees and vendors.
  • Effective organization skills to be able to handle a large volume of invoices and tackle issues as they arise.
  • Customer focused in order to seek out opportunities to meet or exceed expectations of the business.
  • Ability to resolve problems and implement solutions with minimal direction.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes. Ability to work the flexible hours required to meet deadlines.
  • A strong team player, sharing in work loads, with proven experience in establishing strong, cooperative working relationships.
  • JD Edwards experience preferable, including three ways match invoice processing.
  • Worked on ERP System with full knowledge of the pay cycle
  • Excellent working skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel & Word.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles relative to Accounts Payable.
