The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist - Shutdowns Mechanical to join the Asset Management team at Lihir. Reporting to the Superintendent - Mechanical, you will coordinate safely the mechanical maintenance activities for the Tanks & Tails area ensuring that all equipment is correctly maintained to meet necessary production and reliability targets.

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in Fixed Plant Maintenance at a Technical Specialist or equivalent level and above is essential.
  • Mechanical Trade Certificate is essential.
  • A tertiary qualification is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in CCD's and NCA maintenance is desirable.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in shutdown maintenance is desirable.
  • Previous experience in shutdown planning and/or delivery is desirable.
  • The ability to develop technical knowledge, establish and monitor technical systems, and manage relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in dealing with contract labour and contractor companies during shutdowns.
  • Possess a technical understanding of the operation of CCD and NCA systems.
  • The ability to perform pre-start meetings during shutdowns.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite including MS Project.

Mobilisation Requirements:
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment and a police check.
