Our Red Chris mine is located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan, in Northern British Columbia and we encourage qualified applicants from the local communities to apply. This position is required to work on site at the mine located approximately 80KM for Dease Lake, BC. We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George and Smithers, as well as Calgary, AB.

Reporting to the Document Control Lead, the Document Controller will provide project control services in the management of documents for the Red Chris Block Cave Study, and Early Works Project execution, in line with Newcrest standards and industry leading methods to assist in delivering the Pre-Feasibility Study on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • •Ensuring alignment with the Group document control standards for each phase.
  • •Assisting with the roll-out of the Group Document naming convention and process to capture documents, then ensuring integrity of the process and storage of documents.
  • •Providing routine document control support, assisting others and resolving document problems and enquiries.
  • •Training internal and external users on systems and processes.
  • •Researching questions and problems regarding departmental policies and procedures.
  • •Preparing reports including researching, compiling and summarizing document storage data in accordance to established procedures.
  • •Performing QA checks on all outgoing docs based on Newcrest Quality Procedures.
  • Managing SharePoint

We are looking for a candidate that has a demonstrated commitment to safety as well as exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills. Our ideal candidate will be a team player who is able to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve project deliverables and promotes teamwork through exceptional communication skills.

In addition, you will have:
  • •Post secondary diploma or Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline
  • •Minimum 5 years' experience in related role
  • •Advanced proficiency with applicable software applications including SharePoint, Aconex & Microsoft Office
  • •Knowledge of all levels of project documentation and engineering terminology
  • •Experience working with various electronic drawing file formats
  • •Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • •Ability to prioritize and multi-task with the skill of versatility to adapt to changing priorities.
