The Role:

We are seeking a Supervisor- Waste Management for a position on Lihir Island, PNG. Reporting to the Superintendent- Facilities Management Plant End, you will ensure that Waste Management Facilities are managed well on site to meet the demand of waste generation within the operation. This is a team leader position so the successful candidate will supervise a mixture of Newcrest staff and contractors and will need to exhibit experience leading a team throughout the interview process.

Key criteria/responsibilities:
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in Waste Management is essential
  • Working knowledge of SAP is desirable
  • Management of the operations aspect of the company, daily/weekly/monthly/Annual KPI reporting, and Environment section team leaders.
  • Data updating, ensuring compliance in safety tools onsite, liaising with Supply & Logistics team on shipment of scrap metal
  • Ensuring compliance with Statutory and Regulatory requirement with regards waste management
  • Strong time management skills
  • Conflict resolution and training skills


Qualifications/ certificates:
  • Mechanical trade qualified Specialising in incinerators or equivalent
  • PNG driver's license

Requirements:
  • Role reserved for PNG nationals
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last 6 months
