Our Red Chris mine is located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan, in Northern British Columbia and we encourage qualified applicants from the local communities to apply. This position is required to work on site at the mine located approximately 80KM for Dease Lake, BC. We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George and Smithers, as well as Calgary, AB.
Reporting to the Tailings Cyclone Sand Dam Supervisor to support the Sand Production, TIA Operations and Environmental Teams. The successful applicant will be required to work and stay in camp during their shift rotations.
The Cyclone Sand Dozer Operator is responsible for the construction, maintenance and surveillance of the project's 30,000 mtpd tailings impoundment facilities and associated water management systems.

Accountabilities:
- Strong commitment and adherence to all safety policies and procedures
- Safe and responsible management of all aspects of tailings operations, maintenance, and surveillance
- Oversee the construction and maintenance required for all tailings dam construction activities
- Provide daily work directions and optimize all field construction activities
- Understand overall requirements for timing of construction activities in order to meet operational requirements
- Working closely with the on-site dam construction contractor
- Manage multiple crews and job tasks
- Working closely with other departments to coordinate activities
- Assist in the conduction of inspections of all dams and related infrastructure according to the current guidelines using defined checklists
- Manage and assist in surveying and geotechnical lab testing
- Manage and supervise pumping and dewatering activities within the tailings impound area
- Assist in the coordination and execution of all field activities related to cyclone sand dam construction
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years experience as dozer operator in mining or heavy civil earthworks
- construction
- Demonstrated previous experience working with cyclone sand dam construction, operating cyclones and completing pipe work
- Able to work with minimal supervision once familiar with requirements
- A team player that works well with others
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent is preferred
