Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Pit Utilities Technician to work in our Open Pit at Red Chris Mine. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the purpose of the Pit Utilities Technician is to support the open pit mining operations through:
  • Planning, preparation and execution of electric shovel and cable moves
  • Ensure Shovel cables are installed correctly
  • Installation, maintenance, and monitoring of the pit dewatering system
  • Conduct and document inspections on all cable and pumping stations
  • Maintain signage standards around the open pit work area
  • Hot seating Haul trucks and equipment if necessary

The successful candidate should be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, and have experience working with electric shovels. Additionally, you will have:
  • A minimum of one year's experience operating in an open pit mine
  • Be committed to safety in the workplace
  • Experience with dewatering and pumping operations
  • Equipment and Haul truck experience is mandatory
  • The ability to use small hand tools (drills, air compressors, chain saws and gas pumps) is preferred
  • Mine Rescue and First Aid tickets will be an asset.
  • A valid drivers licence is required
