Our exciting Havieron Project

The Havieron Project has enjoyed tremendous exploration success over the past year and is rapidly approaching delivery of a maiden resource, with future mining potential currently being assessed. The Havieron Project is the primary target of the Newcrest-operated farm-in and potential joint venture with Greatland Gold and forms a key focus of Newcrest's growth strategy. The Project is located in the Paterson Province, Western Australia, approximately 45km east of Newcrest's 100%-owned Telfer mine.

Who we're looking for

In this critical fixed term contract, you will be accountable for assisting the HSEC Manager in the development and management of strategic Health and Safety framework for world class safety performance for the Havieron Project in accordance with Newcrest safety processes and procedures.

You'll play a key role in the Havieron Project Team and it's success with both internal and external stakeholders, and contractors in order to safely and efficiently deliver the exploration decline to meet the requirements of the Havieron business plan.

Our ideal candidate will have either extensive industry experience or a degree in Industrial Safety, Safety Management, Engineering or a related technical field. You'll come from an extensive background in health and safety ideally in the mining or resources industries.

You will also ideally have;
  • Sound knowledge of Emergency Response Teams skills, equipment and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding around early works project management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and produce results
  • Strong consultative and influencing skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
