Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Mobile Fleet Maintenance Team at their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role:

We are seeking three experienced Technical Specialists - Mechanical [Drills] to join the mobile fleet maintenance team at Lihir. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide advanced technical maintenance expertise, on-the-job diagnostic support, guidance and training to the PNG national workforce. The role has a primary focus on skills, education and talent development in support of all planned and unplanned maintenance activities within our on-site Blast Hole Drill Fleet.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • 10 years post-trade, expert level experience on equipment, preferably an OEM background with a focus on troubleshooting and fault finding is essential.
  • Trade Certificate in Heavy Equipment Fitting or Heavy Duty Mechanical is essential.
  • Proven experience in the below is essential:
    • coaching/training personnel preferably in under-developed countries.
    • Epiroc and Sandvik Surface Blasthole Drills (D65, PV271 and D55SP).
    • TEREX RH200 Hydraulic Shovels or Caterpillar 6050's.
    • Hitachi EX2600 & 1200 Excavators.
    • High level of competency in using OEM System Software especially Caterpillar E.T and Cummins Insight.
  • Working at Heights, Fork Lift, Dogging is desirable.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Supervisor 1,2&3 or equivalent are advantageous.

Mobilisation Requirements:
  • Ability to provide/obtain a valid police clearance.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
