Operations near and far

Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area's occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Employees have access to the area's wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector with a modern well-equipped regional hospital, excellent educational facilities, shopping, large selection of sport and recreation options, transport and other services such as childcare.

Who we're looking for

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, will have the opportunity to work with leading industry experts for our new development project at Australia's largest underground gold mine.

You will be providing guidance and operational technical support to deliver the project. This will include working with a diverse range of stakeholders within operations and planning teams. With the changing nature of the project, you will also provide assistance to infrastructure, drill, and blast and development planning activities.

You will be safety-focused, team-oriented, enjoy continuous improvement, and striving for results. A key part of your role is to engage with operations, collaborate, and work as part of a team. You will be required to prioritise your work in a fast-paced and agile environment.

You will also possess the following:
  • A relevant tertiary degree in Mining Engineering
  • Demonstrated design experience in underground mining operations
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication and time management skills
  • Previous experience with DESWIK or relevant mine design software

This is a permanent fulltime residential role, and you will be required to work on a 5 days on/2 off roster.
