THE ROLE

We are currently seeking for a Senior Electrical Engineer Front End in the Asset Department to oversee technical expertise, analysis and site electrical compliance on existing fixed plant installations and new projects including developing and reviewing the standards and procedures for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical plant and installations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to such)

• Provide engineering service to the Electrical and Instrumentation Fixed Plant Maintenance team.

• Develop and review the standards and procedures for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electrical plant.



ESSENTIAL CRITERIA's

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualified Bachelor in Electrical Engineering

• Accreditation from the Institute of Engineers PNG Inc to be completed as part of the work permit process

• Eligible to become registered Mine Electrician with PNG Power & MRA

• PNG Driver's License once role commences

Knowledge and Experience

• 7+ years relevant work experience essential including Iterim power station systems, geothermal power systems or diesel power systems

ADVANTAGEOUS CRITERIA's

Qualifications

• High Voltage switching accreditation

• Certificate in Workplace Assessment and Training or similar

Knowledge and Experience

• Previous experience working in a remote location in a developing country

• Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication and public speaking skills

• Computer proficiency in MS Office suite, SAP and Power BI

Technical Capabilities

• Competent with ETAP or similar software (Digsilent Power Factory/PSCAD)

• Competent with HV protection systems and studies and power system operations, stability and control

• Experienced in the production of switching sheets, access, and test permits

MOBILISATION REQUIREMENTS

• Must be open to work in Lihir, PNG as a FIFO.

• Ability to provide/obtain valid police clearance.

• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
