Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 km outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and a three-hour drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy. Who are we looking for

We are currently seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to join our Projects Control team at Cadia, ensuring key business transactions involving the purchase and supply of goods and services are adequately covered by an appropriate contractual instrument, and supporting contract owners with effective contract management to prevent misunderstandings and ensure accountabilities, responsibilities and liabilities of each party are unambiguous.

With 3 direct reports, your new role will add value by assisting in the maintenance & control of contract performance, costs and quality, and the reduction and control of risk.

Key deliverables include, but not limited to:
  • Contract Management - Delivering commercial and contractual advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Utilising benchmarks for the monitoring of Newcrest's suppliers' performance and price variation.
  • Review rates and validate escalation calculations submitted by Contractors.
  • Providing timely advice to internal stakeholders regarding commercial and contractual issues.
  • Negotiate, resolve and liaise with Legal Counsel, internal stakeholder and Vendor on Supplier qualifications and proposed contractual amendments (as required).
  • Maintaining registers for sourcing, contracts and associated correspondence
  • Administrative tasks - manage three direct reports and admin requirements for the Mining Projects team, which includes.

As the ideal candidate, you will be an experienced Contracts professional who enjoys technical challenges. Through excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach, you will work seamlessly with various stakeholders to achieve the required safety, operational and commercial outcomes.

In addition, you will also have:
  • Extensive Contracts Management experience
  • Proven Vendor management skills
  • Strong claims and data analysis skills
  • Intermediate to advance MS Excel skills are essential
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience would be a benefit but is not essential

Please note: This is a 2 years Fixed-Term contract based in Orange, NSW on a Monday - Friday roster.
