Our Red Chris mine is located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan, and we encourage qualified applicants from the local communities to apply. We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, Alberta.

This role's primary function is to provide carpentry support in the site maintenance division on a Fly In Fly Out (2 weeks in, 2 weeks out) opportunity.

Accountabilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate camps and wooden structures in mills, mines, and ancillary buildings
  • Provide input to and support the development of applicable standard operating procedures with respect to their trade
  • Utilize SAP to input pick tickets and notifications, as required
  • Supervise and support apprentices
  • Support on a various general labour tasks, as required

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Journeyman Carpenter Interprovincial Red Seal Certification
  • Valid class 5 driver's license required
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years work related experience
  • Candidates to provide information re: Safety Program related training and experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
