Technician- Processing SAOC Controller

The Role:

We are seeking a Technician Processing for a position on Lihir Island, PNG. Reporting to the SAOC coordinator, the SAOC Controller is accountable for the day to day operation of a specific area of the Control Centre. Their role is specifically to ensure the control centres area is operating effectively and providing a high level of service to the relevant operational & maintenance areas in regards to delivering on targets, compliance to plans, ensuring tonnage rates and gold recoveries are maximised. You will also add value by:
  • Identify opportunities to optimise the value chain and communicate to the relevant people.
  • Ensuring compliance to plans along the area value chain
  • Pre-empting potential issues to minimise losses along the control centre value chain
  • Ensuring all issues along the control centre value chain are escalated accordingly
  • Ensuring that the following control centres are fully functional and are delivering to plan either:
    • Crushers and Conveyors
    • HGO1&2
    • FGO
    • Autoclaves
    • NCA1&2 and electrowinning cells
    • Monitoring the Breakdown events through the shift, ensuring escalation TARP's are used when required and capturing the OEE in the log sheet
    • Monitoring utilisation of equipment to ensure targets are been met, if limits are exceeded TARP's are utilised to gain back control


Essential criteria:
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • DCS, Foxboro experience
  • Concentrator experience
  • Knowledge of control systems is desirable
  • Have experience with computerised maintenance systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel & Word
  • Analytical thinker
  • Excellent report writing and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in high pressure situations
  • Have shown a willingness to work and participate in a team environment

Qualifications:
  • Minimum level of Grade 12 education certificate essential.
  • Certificates/Statements of Attainment in relevant Metalliferous processing competencies desirable





Requirements:
  • Open to PNG nationals only.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last 6 months
