Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 km outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and a three-hour drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy. Have access to the area's wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport, and other services such as childcare.

Who are we looking for

The primary focus of this 6-month fixed term contract is to ensure accurate financial statements with compliance to financial accounting standards and Newcrest guidelines.

Other key deliverables of the role include;
  • Being accountable for a safe site for everyone, every day, by implementing and evaluating safe work practices, improving safety performance, and celebrating safety achievements.
  • Managing the general ledger to ensure that the CVO balance sheet, profit, and loss, cash flow reports accurately represent the current financial position of the operation.
  • Managing shared services delivery (AP, AR, Accounting) for CVO, including the identification of improvements to service delivery and scope, and scheduled performance review meetings.
  • Provide systems support (TM1, SAP, OneView, etc.) for the Commercial team to ensure the financial systems are aligned with operational requirements, leading improvement and enhancement initiatives as required.

A high level of financial analytical skills with strong conceptual and research skills along with exceptional time management skills are key to success. A primary focus will be to perform these activities in a coordinated manner with the external party on a daily basis and be able to resolve and/or escalate any issues timely.

Our ideal candidate will have a degree qualification in Accounting or Finance and/or a professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/CA), either post-completion or currently pursuing will be an added advantage.

A background working in Mining or Oil & Gas is highly advantageous but not necessary. You will also have;
  • Integrated ERP system experience (SAP, TM1, etc)
  • Technically savvy - identified areas for improvements
  • Pulling data, understand the functionality of it
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders, and be proactive in a complex environment with strict timelines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong levels of rigor and demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness to solving problems

Please note: This is a Fixed-Term contract until 31 st July 2022, based in Orange, NSW on a Monday - Friday roster. We are open to flexible working arrangements, however, regular travel to our Cadia site is essential.
