Operations near and far

Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours' drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy. Have access to the area's wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational and sporting facilities, shopping, transport and other services such as childcare.

Who are we looking for:

A big focus of this 18-month contract is to ensure Cadia's compliance with monitoring and reporting compliance requirements on a range of environmental parameters as well as provide generalist environmental support. Reporting to the Superintendent Environment, you will provide advice with respect to all environmental, sustainability and technical matters.

Previous experience working in the mining industry in the environmental field is desirable. A sound knowledge of the statutory environmental requirements and the ability to provide competent advice on these requirements is equally important.

You'll be structured and well organised with exceptional time management skills and your stakeholder management and interpersonal skills will be impeccable. You will also have;
  • A Bachelor of Environmental Science or Engineering (Environmental) or equivalent
  • Experience in operating and maintaining an environmental management system, environmental risk registers and management plans.
  • Experience with managing environmental compliance in a major project
  • Project Management or proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Incident investigation, auditing skills, data analysis and report writing skills
  • Experience with air quality and noise management
  • Coordinating and managing a range of environmental monitoring programs
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Understanding of NSW planning and regulatory framework for State Significant Developments


A manual driver's licence is compulsory to work at Cadia Operations.

The ability to manage and maintain compliance systems -tracking incidents, updating and maintaining environmental management plans and procedures will form as a significant part in this role. You will have a passion for compliance and process improvement and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Your ability to work to structure, experience in stakeholder and change management along with ability to prioritise and think quickly on your feet will ensure your success in the role.
