The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst - Business for a FIFO position on Lihir Island, PNG. Reporting to the Superintendent - Finance, you will establish, embed and maintain smooth operations of the entire site based financial functions.

The role will have responsibility to:
  • Drive and influence proactive safety behaviours within work groups through visible leadership.
  • Ensure all personnel, visitors and contractors comply with site and contractual Health, Safety and Environment requirements and hold people accountable for adherence.
  • Develop business partnering skills and cross functional knowledge through interactions with site and corporate Finance, Asset Management, Projects and Engineering and other site teams to support finance analyst
  • Take responsibility to ensure all statutory and regulatory reporting timeframes are met with quality reporting.
  • Provide active input into site cost management, including identification of cost reduction opportunities.
  • Support Cost Controls and analysis with the financial planning and analysis
  • Support audit requirements for reporting and analysis
  • Lead and collaborate with a diverse group of people to facilitate finance delivery and improvement activities in a culturally diverse team and site
  • Support to develop team members through regular team coaching and formal training.

Essential criteria
  • Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Law or Economics essential
  • 5 plus years' relevant work experience including coaching and mentoring and working with diverse cross functional teams and Stakeholders

Desirable criteria
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and a roll the sleeves up continuous improvement approach to all tasks.
  • High attention to detail with good time management skills.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills.

The Requirements
  • Must be open to FIFO in PNG.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
  • Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
