Newcrest has an opportunity for a Mechanic to join our Mobile Maintenance Team at Red Chris Mine in northern BC!

Accountabilities

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • The maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of company light vehicle fleet
  • Diagnose, plan, and execute repairs on company light vehicle fleet
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement to enhance operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
  • Input timesheets, material information, equipment information and work orders electronically
  • The mentorship and training of apprentices
  • Practice workplace safety
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal Interprovincial Certification in Automotive Service Technician trade required
  • Minimum valid Class 5 driver's license required, Class 3 or higher with air brakes endorsement preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' related experience required, preferably in an industrial setting
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and MS Outlook preferred, SAP experience a distinct asset
  • Ability to mentor and train apprentices
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to perform tasks that require strength and stamina in extreme weather conditions
  • A team player that works well with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
