Join our Maintenance Planning & Improvement team based at our Cadia site. Reporting to the Improvement Specialist you will be accountable for development and delivery of maintenance budget, quarter forecast & month end reports; for both Surface & Underground fixed-plant and assets, with a key focus on improvement and capital management & reporting.

Who we're looking for:

This role will work directly with multiple site departments and disciplines to identify vital improvements and upgrades that will provide strong business benefit and enable our plant to be operated and maintained into the future.

This role will support the Planning & Improvement Superintendent by assisting the Improvement Specialist and Senior Long-Term Planner with the development of the Fixed Plant OPEX and CAPEX budgets; the strategic and tactical objectives, plans, priorities and projects to improve overall business results.
  • Creation of works execution budgets (annual OPEX $180M / CAPEX $45M)
  • Cost modelling and reporting via analysis of large datasets (PM Maintenance / Breakdown attendance / RCM / Outages). Monthly cost reports, quarterly budget reporting (Planned vs Actual) & cost forecasting
  • Identify improvement opportunities within the Work Management System that will increase planning efficiency and accuracy
  • Work closely with the execution and planning team to identify and facilitate the execution of key maintenance improvements, creating a culture of accountability where everyone is empowered to drive change via detailed understanding of MOC and Maintenance Business Processes
  • Monitor delivery of changes & compliance with internal MOC processes, maintenance systems, business processes, work strategies, maintenance execution and cost
  • Detailed stakeholder engagement for all improvement initiatives to build a culture of trust and togetherness. Ensure that all stakeholders are engaged prior to implementing strategic changes
  • Build communication packs to share with senior management that clearly articulates the improvements that the maintenance team are delivering
  • Undertake specific tasks as directed by the Planning & Improvement Superintendent.


You will also possess the following:
  • Significant Maintenance Trade / Engineering / Scheduling experience gained within complex heavy industrial environments - ideally as supervisor (or senior) with proven people management skills
  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in Economics / Finance / Commerce (Degree or Diploma), with proven experience in creation of Zero-Based Budget for large complex operation exceeding $100m.
  • Cost modelling via analysis of large datasets and financial reporting
  • Advanced understanding of site improvement function including Lean Six Sigma (with a proven track record of safety and cost benefit initiatives that align with the DMAIC process)
  • Comprehensive understanding of Preventative Maintenance, RCM & Outage delivery scheduling
  • Strong knowledge of the fixed plant infrastructure & key performance areas in operation - both Surface and UG Fixed Plant highly advantageous
  • Project Management experience - Ability to coordinate large projects from initial scope through to execution and handover greater than $2.5m in value
  • Advanced understanding of SAP & proficient use in Workbench Manager for CAPEX cost management.
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft office - Excel, Word & Power Point
