Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Mobile Maintenance Team at their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Specialist - Mechanical - (Mobile Fleet)to join the Mobile Fleet Maintenance team at Lihir. Reporting to the Senior Specialist - Trucks/Tyres/PCR, you will lead and supervise the mechanical planned component replacement (PCR) maintenance activities of the fleet team to ensure maximum availability and reliability within budget.

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Trade certificate in diesel fitting or heavy equipment fitting is essential
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in large scale mining/mineral processing operations
  • Previous experience in delivery and assessment of training will be highly regarded
  • CAT systems training and familiar with CAT VIMS & HIMS programs and the use of CAT ET tooling
  • CAT Applied failure analysis training
  • The ability to deliver technical training to small workgroups in hands-on and in-class situations
  • An understanding of tyre maintenance activities and guidance on requirements to the team
  • An extensive understanding of reusability guidelines and thresholds
  • An understanding of failure modes and causes
  • Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure & autonomously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite

Mobilisation Requirements:
  • Must be committed to work FIFO to PNG, an attractive roster is offered
  • Ability to provide/obtain valid police clearance
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
