Who we're looking for

Reporting to our Principal - International Tax, the Tax Advisor - International manages tax compliance and timely tax advice for a portfolio of non-Australian entities, functions, and assets of the Newcrest Mining Limited Group. This will include:
  • Ensure tax compliance is completed accurately and on a timely basis
  • Assist with tax effect accounting calculations as required
  • Provide accurate and timely tax advice/input to the business and other corporate groups
  • Undertake planning and execution of tax projects
  • Assist with managing tax audits and disputes for the group

Our ideal candidate will have a degree qualification in Accounting or Finance and professional qualification, either post-completion or currently pursuing. You'll have significant experience in a tax role, either operational or consulting, with exposure to diverse organisations. A Mining or Resources tax, or Big 4 accounting firm background would be beneficial.

Additionally, you will also have:
  • The ability to interpret and apply tax legislation, exercise judgment on technical matters and liaise with external tax advisors
  • Highly tuned problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Project Management experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of accounting requirements
  • Strong commercial sense
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with SAP will be beneficial but is not essential
