The Opportunity:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist - Total Rewards to join our Vancouver Regional Office.

The successful candidate will play a key role in carrying out, administrating and providing guidance on different aspects of the Corporate compensation programs, while ensuring that the Total Rewards program and overall compensation maintains alignment, and the desired philosophy, within a constantly changing external market. These programs will include and not limited to: variable pay, retirement plans, health benefits, EAP, special allowances, and others.

The incumbent will work closely with the Global Performance & Rewards team and regional HR departments, towards standardization and compliance to the relevant legislative requirements and Corporate standards.

Administer and deliver Total Rewards policies, procedures, and programs
  • Prepare total rewards analyses reports, including compensation and benefits
  • Prepare Total Rewards communication documents and supporting material
  • Assist in the preparation of termination packages for senior management roles only
  • Perform audits of compensation programs, including quality of personal/individual scorecards used for bonus purposes
  • Perform internal equity reviews
  • Participate in industry networking groups
  • Complete special ad hoc projects and analysis as requested

Provide recommendations related to compensation and classification
  • Conduct job evaluations and analyses and set remuneration for new jobs
  • Benchmark jobs against market survey data to determine competitive compensation for each position, as well as considering internal relativities
  • Provide recommendations and consultation on issues related to compensation and benefits, including the link between performance and variable pay

Lead all aspects of the annual Total Rewards cycle for region
  • Assist in the execution of the annual merit increase cycle
  • Assist in the processing of the annual short-term incentive plan payment
  • Participate in audit reporting
  • Support/drive implementation, administration, and communication of regional pay structures, including share plans and/or gainshare incentives, as required

Lead Benefit Plan management
  • Oversee the benefit plan for the Company in Western Canada
  • Prepare Benefit plan communication documents and supporting material
  • Communicate the Benefit plan options, features and enrollment requirements
  • Research employee benefits in like industries, based on findings, recommends changes or updates to the Company's existing plan
  • Work with insurance brokers and investment planners to create competitive, cost-effective benefits packages for the Company

Support management and employees in the interpretation and application of Total Rewards and Benefit policies, procedures and programs
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for management to support operations and strategic decision-making

About You:
  • Post-secondary education in Business or a related discipline
  • Hold or working towards a CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or CMS (Compensation Management Specialist) designation, considered an asset
  • Minimum three years of experience in administrating a Compensation/Total Rewards programs and/or Benefits plans
  • Minimum five years of experience in Human Resources
  • Post-secondary education in Business or a related discipline
  • Hold or working towards a CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or CMS (Compensation Management Specialist) designation, considered an asset
  • Minimum three years of experience in administrating a Compensation/Total Rewards programs and/or Benefits plans
  • Minimum five years of experience in Human Resources
