Reflecting that commitment, we are seeking applications for a strong experienced leader to spearhead and drive our operational teams in developing value through leading the provision of safe and sustainable non-process infrastructure and associated services to our Lihir operations based in our Lihir operation in Papua New Guinea.

Reporting to the General Manager - Lihir Operations, the focus of the role is to delivers safe operation, maintenance, and safe environment for the use of non-process infrastructure assets including accommodation and associated infrastructure, all consumable goods stores and warehouses, port and marine assets, airport and mobile equipment and transport. You will manage delivery of all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual targets and KPIs associated with NPI & Operational Services accountabilities whilst developing and delivering to the 3-month non-process infrastructure (including logistic assets) maintenance schedules and executes the schedules to ensure safe and reliable use of the assets.

As a leader, you will contribute to the development of Development and Planning medium and long-term plans including major maintenance of assets, development of technological improvements and major capital improvement/replacement projects. Importantly, driving continuous review of NPI & Operational Services processes and procedures to increase simplicity, effectiveness and excellence of outcomes. You will be developing and implementing strategies and tactics to optimise commercial outcomes for the non-process infrastructure assets to enable delivery of the LoPP. Critical to the role is facilitating cross departmental co-operation and collaboration to maximise business value; ensuring corporate initiatives are translated into Lihir's business goals.

As an ideal candidate, you will have a qualification in related discipline with highly demonstrated operational and commercial experience within a similar environment. You will have come from the mindset where safety and people come first. You will hold demonstrated relevant work experience essential in comparative leadership roles preferably in mining, metals extraction or processing and critical expertise managing high value end to end multiple unit value chain operations. Previous experience working in a remote location in a developing country advantageous, but not essential

You will have an ability to work with multiple stakeholders across a wide range of disciplines and have a high level of energy and commitment. You will be a pragmatic leader with excellent communication & problem-solving skills so as to be able to relate with impact to our senior stakeholders. You will be adept at developing mid to long-term departmental plans, changes and initiatives to achieve overall business goals by providing positive leadership, direction & guidance within the department and wider organisation. You will be capable of taking the team and wider business on a transformation journey.
